Climate Issues

For the last few weeks of term 3 and today we had to complete our climate Issues slide show about climate issues. This is my completed one.

At the end of last term and today we had to finish a slideshow about climate issues. This is the last DLO I had to make for the slide show.

Climate Change

Another one of the DLOs we have to finish before next Friday. Tjis one was on climate change, there was so much to read for the DLO. I didn't write much compared to how much I read. I only included what I thought was most imteresting.

On Thursday and Friday we had to finish a slide show with all these tasks about climate change and other stuff. I am not yet finished but this is the third to last one.

Last week we had to make a DLO for ocean acidification. I recently finished mine. There is a slide show with all these links and we had to make a DLO on them. The links are all the places I got the research from.

Wanted Poster

Today we had to make a wanted poster for Pol Pot a.k.a Saloth Sar. He led the Khmer Rouge to kill so many innocent people. So I made mine very basic and mimium.

Movie Making Scriptboard

Reading Response

Last week and today we were given these reading responses to work on, we also had to change the presentation to make it look pretty. My one looks pretty basic but the simplicity looks nice. My favourite part was making Little Red Riding Hood from the wolves perspective and changing the story a bit.

This week for literacy we had to do a checkpoint sheet. We had to choose one of the answers and explain why we chose that one. I think picking my favourite paragraph for the second thing was my favourite task.

Inquiry Work Week 9

For this week and last week, we had to start a building a resilient community slide deck. On this slide deck, we had to start writing things our family could provide and do for the community. My favourite part was thinking of things for the entertainment part.

Maths Week 9

This week we started a fractions slide deck, inside there was a KWL chart and a few other things. My favourite part was when we learned how to convert improper fractions into mixed numbers.

Literacy Week 9

This week for literacy we had to finish these slides about paragraphs. We had to also write a closing statement for a topic that we chose. My favourite part was probably writing that short paragraph about Alice and Ben.

Maths Week 8

This week for mth we had to do a lot of learning based around Te Reo Maori and numbers, we learned a lot about the history of numbers and how we ended up with a base ten. Other than this, we did a lot of work in our math books.

Literacy Week 8

This week we had to start a literacy slide deck. I managed to finish all my literacy right on time. The difficult part for me was definitely writing template. We had to answer these questions in a different slide deck but I decided to post it along with the rest of the work.

This week for literacy, we had to complete a slide deck. We had to infer and learn how to write a paragraph properly. My favourite part was probably trying to infer on the person/peoples occupation.

Angles Slide

This week for maths we had to complete this KWL sheet on angles and lots of worksheets. I learned quite a bit from this week.

3D Shapes

This week for maths we were learning about 3D shapes, fro the last slide we had to make a poster about a few shapes and the object that is that exact shape, something I learned that a hexagonal prism has 8 faces 12 vertices and 18 edges.

This week we started a slide about inferring on pictures and short stories, for the last slide we had to make or put together a picture with a deeper meaning to it, it took me a lot of debating before I chose to settle on this.

This week for reading we were given this slide deck to complete, we had to infer on a few pictures and short stories to figure out the deeper message or meaning. I learned that Tesco wraps every item in plastic.

Need For Speed Activity

This week we were given an inquiry task with two activities in it. This activity was the 'Need For Speed' activity. We had to design a vehicle and say why we made it like it is. I made it a rather big car because I have a big family and I made it a blue car. It is a rather ordinary car other than that.

This week we had an inquiry task given to us, one of the tasks was if you could live in a tiny house would you, and why?

After looking at a few little houses I decided that I would really like living in one by myself, I say this because a lot of the space is used in creative ways (e.g foldable tables) I think that is would give me a sense of security while staying there because of the size. (I think it would have to have a little bit of room because I'm claustrophobic)

Bingo Board of Awesomeness No. 1

This week, for one of our tasks we had to complete two things on the Bingo Board of Awesomeness, I chose to bake a banana cake, I made it for my granddads birthday (which is tomorrow) we decided to take photos and send them to him since we can't give it to him first-hand. But since it was something sweet I asked my sister to send the photos and decided to use these for the Bingo Board of Awesomeness.

My Role Model

My Role Model

This week we started new a new inquiry worksheet. One of the tasks was to name someone who is a role model or inspiration to me. My role model (someone who inspires me) is Jacinda Ardern. She inspires me because of the calm way she handles all the bad situations that have been thrown her way since becoming prime minister. She (in my opinion) isn´t the type to give up easily, many inevitable crises have happened since she became prime minister (examples, the Christchurch mosque shootings, Whakaari/White Island volcano eruptions and the COVID-19 outbreak) but she perseveres through all the tough times and helps get New Zealand through them too. That is why Jacinda Ardern is my role model and someone who inspires me a great deal.

Today we were given our math sheets for this week, I finished mine now. The hardest part for me was the temperature slides because I was confused at the instructions.

If I could Take Two People Up Mount Everest

If I Could Take Two People up Mount Everest

If I could take two people up Mount Everest, I would take Ruiha and Pyper. The reason I'd take them was so Pyper so she could carry my stuff up the mountain,  and Ruiha so she could carry me up the mountain. I would say both Pyper and Ruiha are strong, so I chose them, so one can carry me and the other to carry my stuff up the mountain, (that would probably include an oxygen tank so I don't die).

This week we had to complete this descriptive writing task, I finished mine today. I found thinking of new descriptive words for each 'scene' was very hard. Do you think I did a good job of describing each scene?

If I Could Be a Superhero For The Day

If I Could Be a Superhero For The Day

If I could choose three superpowers to have for the day, I would either choose flight, invisibility and strength or flight, invisibility and the power to grant my own and other peoples wishes. Then I'd wish for powers forever. But I think that counts as cheating. So I'll go with strength instead.

Here is why I chose each one,

• Flight because, if I were in superhero vs supervillain fight, flying would give me the upper hand.
• Invisibility because it would help be sneak around and become more stealthy.
• Strength because if all else failed, I'd be stronger so I would get a near-guaranteed win.

Since there wouldn't really be many villains in Ahipara or Kaitaia, I'd focus on bettering my powers so when I decide to leave I wouldn't be weak.

Geometry Work

Yesterday we started on this geometry work. I finished today, the hardest thing for me was making the map. I decided I wanted to make up a random map. Thinking of the street names was difficult, but fun. What would you have done? Would you have made a regular map, or would you make your own map?
